SALSA standards - quick facts and faq's

The SALSA standard was written by experienced food safety experts to reflect both the legal requirements of producers and the enhanced expectations of 'best practice' of professional food buyers.

Approval certification is only granted to suppliers who are able to demonstrate to a SALSA auditor that they are able to produce safe and legal food and are committed to continually meeting the requirements of the SALSA standard.

It is essential that you prepare well for your SALSA audit, should it be required and here are some of SALA’s own FAQ’s answered.

How do I know if I have been approved?

Following your audit, SALSA will make the approval decision, and notify you of this decision. Please see SALSA’s Steps to Approval guide

Can I fail a SALSA Audit?

Yes, if you do not provide sufficient evidence that you comply with the SALSA standard.

What happens if I don’t agree with your findings?
